Our Love Story

How we met

April 2015

We met through my sister in April 2015 during Easter period that year, he got my number and BBM pin without even meeting me. We didn't talk for like two weeks after we exchanged contacts, Kola joked and texted me that "Ahahn greet us na" haha I am not usually nice but that day I was nice to him, I don't know why, I replied him and we started talking, then he called and I didn't know who was talking at first because he used that iPhone funny voice thing.

We started talking a lot that time, he would call, we would text, Then one day he asked me where I was staying in Osogbo, I told him (I was serving at the time). Then he called me the next day that he was at the bus stop of your house, and he asked me how he could get to my house, he really surprised me that day. We talked a lot and after some time I told him I wanted to go to the market and I could not leave him in my room since I was just meeting him for the first time, told him to wait for me in the shop in front of my house but he said he would follow me to the market. We cooked when we got back and after eating, he said. He didn't feel like going back to Ibadan that day. I told him no o that he must go back. Lol. He called when he got to Ibadan and said he would like us to date then I told him I will like to think about it, He interjected and said that here was no need to think about anything, I know you like me, I like you too. I saw that it was true so I said okay let's see how it goes. That was the first time I had ever agreed to date someone so easily.

The Journey...

He came to see my mom and did the normal African Mom interview. Haha.
Around that time, his Mom got ill, and unfortunately, his Schedule didn't permit him to move around a lot, so I suggested that I could help out with his mom and this had only been a month since we started dating, He agreed for me to help bring food to her and assist in taking care of her.

She was very happy to meet me, she also asked me questions. And I met his dad that day also, It was then we found out that our parents have had a type of connection in the past; His Dad was working at BCOS when. My Father was the General Manager of. BCOS. Also, the times when my Mom used to go to Cotonou, his Mom used to travel there too, so they met there often. Both parents were very happy to know that hey already knew each other. This prompted us to get even more serious about our relationship. His mom and I got close even till her last days, She got my first job for me.

The Proposal

Jan 2017

I went. To visit Kola and he said "Babe we can't continue like this" I was even scared, then He said. "We can't continue dating. Like this, let's get serious" it didn't even click, I was just thinking, ah what is this guy talking about??
Then he said " I think. I should meet your parents officially" I didn't know serious he was so I told him that he would have to tell my mom himself.
So on the first Sunday in February, He came with his dad to our house to tell my mom that he wanted to do the proper Yoruba introduction and he asked when he could come and the things to come with. (We never had the conventional proposal)
We did our Introduction ceremony on the 9th of April this year and since then we've been planning for the big day (October 28th)
